Manufacturing slowdown comes as EU and US edge closer towards trade war Eurozone manufacturing suffered a slowdown in growth to an 18-month low in June amid increasing concern over import tariffs, as the EU and US edge closer towards a full-scale trade war with potentially damaging consequences for the world economy. Growth in factory output across the 19-nation bloc dropped to the lowest levels seen since November 2016, according to a monthly survey, with weaker activity and slower growth in new orders particularly felt in Germany, France and Greece.
