The four day fair expects more than 250 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions, and over 20,000 visitors from around the globe. THRIVING OPPORTUNITIES IN ASIA’S STATIONERY MARKET Under the digital era, the stationery industry remains resilient and shows strong potential for market growth. According to data shared by Statista, one of the world’s leading statistics companies, global revenue for the “Hobby and Stationery” segment in 2017 will reach USD132 billion (HKD1030 billion; RMB894 billion), with an annual growth rate of 11.3 per cent between 2017 and 2021. Asia is forecasted to emerge as the highest revenue generator in 2017, which accounts for up to 42% of global revenue (USD56 billion; HKD437 billion; RMB379 billion). Hong Kong, as the major trade hub in Asia Pacific, has attracted the attention of brands and manufacturers from around the world thanks to this revenue generating region. KEY PAVILIONS AND BRANDS SPICE UP THE FAIR Supported by the industry across Asia, the fair will continue to feature pavilions from Korea and Taiwan in cooperation with renowned industry associations, the Korea Stationery Industry Cooperative and the Taiwan Association of Stationery Industries. In addition to pavilions, many notable brands have confirmed their participation. These include 555 (Thailand), Cozilon (Chinese mainland), Golden King Arts (Taiwan), Hadron Epoch (USA), iCreation gift cards (Indonesia), IWI (Taiwan), Jin Hao (Chinese mainland), KIKY (Indonesia), Magruba (Taiwan), Mirage (USA), MOOD (Greece), MUST (Greece) and Wise Magnets (Taiwan). QUALITY VISITOR PROFILE DRAWS EXHIBITORS BACK Wenzhou Kaiwen Stationery & Sports Manufacturing Co Ltd from the Chinese mainland returns to the 2018 fair, and intends to display its wide range of stationery items such as fibre tip pens, fineliners, highlighters and markers. “We aim to strengthen trade ties with our old customers and meet new ones at the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair,” said Shirley Zhou, Sales Manager of the company. “We are able to meet more serious buyers from our targeted sales markets in this fair than the other shows at which we have exhibited before.” Also present at the fair will be the International Writing Instrument Corporation from Taiwan, which has specialised in metallic pen manufacturing for more than 30 years. The company exhibited for the first time at the previous edition of the fair and was overwhelmed by the encouraging results. “The fair is an ideal platform for brand promotion and we were able to meet quality buyers. We successfully found a Korean dealer from our first participation.” said Mei Chang, sales manager of the company, who is going to showcase their newest series of ball pens and fountain pens at the 2018 fair. Another company which joined the fair in 2017 for the first time is Gala Plus International Company from Hong Kong. It engages in various paper and packaging products including calendars, greeting cards, journals and writing pads. The company found it very effective to gain exposure at the fair, as they received numerous orders afterwards. They will also implement a marketing plan to include the fair in their regular marketing strategy. The 2018 fair will once again feature five product zones, including DIY Supplies, Gift Stationery, Kids & School, Pen & Paper and Smart Office. To offer a one-stop trading platform and better sourcing experience, the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair will be held concurrently with the HKTDC’s Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, the Hong Kong Baby Products Fair and the Hong Kong International Licensing Show at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
