Joint statements of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, N. Anastasiades, and Foreign Minister N. Kotzias, following their meeting on the margins of the Greece-Israel-Cyprus Trilateral Meeting (Thessaloniki, 15 June 2017)

REPORTER: Mr. President, you had a long meeting with Mr. Kotzias ahead of Geneva. What can we expect, as content, that can be disclosed at this time? N. ANASTASIDES: It really was a creative meeting, following on the morning meeting with the Prime Minister and Mr. Kotzias, and we have studied how to deal with various scenarios that may arise ahead of Geneva. REPORTER: Mr. President, a short while ago, in statements he made following Mr. Akıncı, Mr. Eide said we are prepared to stay in Geneva for a few weeks. N. ANASTASIDES: For holidays? What does he mean? Hopefully the meeting will be creative and weeks aren't needed. REPORTER: Regarding the common document, Mr. President, on the content. Does that have to be agreed on in the end, or not? N. ANASTASIDES: It is either common or it isn't common. Consequently, it will also have to be agreed. REPORTER: Will in concern procedure, or will you also go into basic principles? N. ANASTASIDES: Listen, tomorrow I will have a meeting with Mr. Eide, I'll see what he brings, and our reaction will depend on what it is. That was what we discussed with the Prime Minister and with the Greek Foreign Minister. REPORTER: Mr. Kotzias, a comment ahead of Geneva. It's very important. N. KOTZIAS: It is always very, very interesting to talk with the President of the Republic of Cyprus and with the Foreign Minister of Cyprus. I thank you very much for the creative manner in which we always discuss our common policy on the major, well-known issues. REPORTER: Can we expect Athens and Nicosia to be of one mind as to how to handle things, as they are taking shape? N. KOTZIAS: Always, always. N. ANASTASIDES: That should be considered a given. REPORTER: Thank you very much.
