The 12 cheapest countries for Americans to visit around the world

[Kiev Ukraine]Shutterstock Everyone deserves a vacation, even if you're traveling on a budget. Thankfully, there are plenty of places around the world where the American dollar is strong, so even a meager getaway budget stretches farther than it would at home. Travel Q&A site Trippy analyzed currency exchange rates and local prices in the 25 most visited countries across the globe to find the places where the American dollar stretches the furthest. The list looks specifically at average midrange hotel rates, transportation, meals, and beer prices, ranking each country according to average travel cost per day. We pulled the 12 cheapest countries from their list, each of which has an average daily cost of less than $150.  Ukraine may be a risky travel destination given its current conflict with Russia, but the country earned the No. 1 spot, likely thanks to its cheap accommodations — the average price for a double room at a midrange hotel is only $25 per night. Thailand and Malaysia rounded out the top three, each offering visitors meals under $2 on average.  Read on to see the full list of where you can get the most bang for a US buck.  12.
