Putintseva advances at Japan Open with win over Sakkari

TOKYO (AP) — Third-seeded Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan defeated Maria Sakkari of Greece 6-4, 6-3 on Wednesday to advance to the second round of the Japan Open.
