New exhibition venue provides enlarged space for the entire automotive industry chain

Dec 01, 2015 Automechanika Shanghai 2015, Asia’s largest trade show for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and services and the second largest Automechanika event worldwide, will open from 2 – 5 December at the new venue National Exhibition and Convention Center, Puxi, Shanghai, with record exhibitor numbers. The new, enlarged venue is in response to Automechanika Shanghai outgrowing its previous exhibition space due to its extreme popularity and unmistakably high-calibre exchange platform for industry companies worldwide. Now 280,000 sqm, a considerable 27 percent increase, may be utilised for exhibiting and sourcing the latest in automotive products and services throughout 11 halls in the largest single block building and exhibition complex in the world. The exhibition space will cover the entire automobile industry chain including OE and aftermarket. Additionally, there will be four major industry sectors represented, including Parts & Components, Repair & Maintenance, Accessories & Tuning and the newly-added sector Electronics & Systems. The Electronics & Systems sector was added as a new category this year due to the exceeding demand experienced at previous Automechanika Shanghai exhibitions. This new sector will utilise over 40,000 sqm of exhibition space, approximately 15 percent of the total exhibition show space, housing 658 exhibitors at Automechanika Shanghai. Brands participating in this new sector include Continental Automotive, Denso, Hella, Huirun, Magneti Marelli and Zhejiang VIE. The total number of exhibitors stands at 5,395, a 10 percent increase from last year’s show, with 39 countries and regions represented. This includes five new countries – Ecuador, Finland, Israel, Liechtenstein and Morocco – and 34 returning countries and regions – Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam. Out of this impressive list of exhibiting countries and regions, there will be 18 overseas pavilions at Automechanika Shanghai this year, including two new ones from Israel and Russia. The returning pavilions are from France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the USA. The number of international exhibitors has increased by 16 percent this year, indicating the elevated internationality of the show. Additionally, in a bid to ensure exhibitors and visitors are at the forefront of the industry and help them expand business opportunities in China and in the international markets, the special zones New Energy, Remanufacturing and Auto Manufacturing are set up to encompass a wide-ranging leading-edge products and technologies. Largest Automechanika Shanghai show shatters records This is the largest Automechanika Shanghai to date, cementing the shows place as Asia’s largest trade fair for the industry. Alongside exhibition space and numbers, the sum of visiting industry professionals is also projected to increase this year, with 100,000 global buyers and trade visitors expected, a booming increase of 12 percent from last year. Automechanika Shanghai has comprehensive influence among those within the automotive industry. Extensive marketing efforts in emerging and established markets have proven successful in gaining further support and interest from exhibitors and visitors. Over 110 overseas and local visitor groups of high-quality buyers and trade visitors will source at this year’s show. More visitors have been invited from areas in North and Southwest China to further enhance the visitor structure from varying manufacturing regions of China. Local groups include new auto dealers, distributors, repair centres, 4S shops and brand chain stores. There are also returning buyers, research representatives and technicians. Overseas visitor groups have increased by a remarkable 31 percent over last year. This includes new groups from Pakistan and Russia. Returning visitor groups are from Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Poland, Singapore and Turkey. This year, the show also receives more supporting industry organisations from the existing groups with six new visitor group organisers, including the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan. Organisers have worked diligently to attract varying groups from both developed and developing countries and regions. The response has been positive and the list of attendees continues to grow. The industry sourcing opportunities are abundant, as more internationally-renowned brands are participating this year. New key brands making their first appearance at Automechanika Shanghai include: Seiki, Alight, Bilstein, DENSO, Du Pont, Magneti Marelli, NGK, SATA, Sofima, Telwin and many more. The number of returning brands is ample with Balance, Bantam, BASF, BIZOL, Bosch, Botny, Brembo, Bright, Carlas, Chery, Continental Automotive, ContiTech, Cummins, Dana, EUROLUB, Federal Mogul, Hella, Mahle, Launch Tech, Liqui Moly, Mann+Hummel, NTN, Osram, RAV, Rowe, SAIC, Schaeffler, SONAX, TRW, VOLTRONIC, WashTec, Weichai, Yunhan, ZF, Zonyi and many more coming back this year. Fringe programme largest to date, huge increase in events The Automechanika Shanghai fringe programme has increased by an astounding 40 percent with over 53 exclusive events scheduled – the largest programme to date. This year’s show will definitely offer something for everyone. One of the biggest highlights of Automechanika Shanghai is the fringe programme and this year each sector is brimming with the most current knowledge of the latest technology and equipment. Events in each of the established sectors experienced growth this year, with the largest event area organised by the Accessories & Tuning sector, with an immense jump in opportunities for information exchange, trading, marketing and knowledge. The Repair & Maintenance, Parts & Components and Electronics & Systems sectors are also enjoying an increased number of educational opportunities and prospects for dialogue about the future of the industry. Exhibitor events, organised by key brands such as Bosch, CTP, ITW, Federal-Mogul and Liqui-Moly, also increased markedly this year. The continued growth of Automechanika Shanghai doesn’t stop there. The show has overwhelming support of 44 local and overseas supporters, including two newly-added local supporters for the 2015 exhibition.
