Highlights

Greece took a step back from the abyss on Monday when it presented new reform proposals that euro zone finance ministers cautiously welcomed as a possible basis for an agreement in the coming days to avert a looming default. Euro zone leaders also gathered in Brussels on Monday for emergency talks to reach a last minute deal to pull Athens back from the brink of bankruptcy. The following are comments from the euro zone heads of government and the heads of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), of the Eurogroup and the European Commission after their meeting.
