Greek FinMin Varoufakis: ‘No Agreement for a 1.0% Primary Surplus’

There has been no agreement between Greece and institutions for a 1.0% primary surplus, Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis said in the Greek Parliament replying to a timely question from “To Potami” MP Haris Theocharis. “The government will not sign inconsistent and misanthropic agreements,” Varoufakis noted. “There has been no day that Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times or Brussels are not talking about a Grexit,” he said, adding that the Greek government is negotiating but the people and the parliament are in the dark. “It is considered casus belli to communicate in our country what is discussed. We did it sometimes in the past and it was deemed that we interrupted the negotiations,” Varoufakis said. On his part, Theocharis accused the government of erratic policy that has failed and has no credibility.
