EU Leaders Schedule Next Greek Debt Meeting for Wednesday

Eurogroup leaders are set to hold the next Greece debt talks on Wednesday, European Council President Donald Tusk has said. Though crisis talks on Monday evening failed to produce tangible results, participants described the developments, including Greece's new package of reform proposals, as a good starting point, according to German daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. One must now "work unbelievably concentrated," the paper quotes German Chancellor Angela Merkel as saying after crunch talks took place. In the words of EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, a "decision" would be announced by Brussels as early as this week. Greece needs to either find more than EUR 1 B to deliver on its debt installment by June 30 or prepare for default, though the country has now asserted it might explore alternatives.
