For the second time this year, a couple of Turkish F-16 aircraft flew over the Greek island of Kinaros at a height of 24,000 feet, according to a Greek Defense Ministry announcement. The incident took place at 11:41 am on Wednesday, May 20, over the small island located east of Amorgos. According to the Ministry announcement, the two aircraft split from a four-aircraft formation, which entered the Athens FIR at 11:23 am between Samos and Chios, and without reporting their flight plan, left the Greek airspace at 12:24 pm south of Chios. The Turkish aircraft were recognized and intercepted by Greek fighter jets. Earlier this year, on April 8, two Turkish aircraft flew over the island of Kinaros at 26,000 feet and above Levitha -a small island east of Amorgos- at 23,000 feet.
