23-year-old Throws €4,000 Cash in Letheos River

Police have launched an investigation after 50, 100, and 500 euro banknotes were mysteriously found floating down Letheos river at the city of Trikala in Greece, Monday 11. According to trikalanews.gr, the notes were seen floating in the water by stunned locals who did not hesitate to enter the river and pick up some of the money. Authrities initially thought that the banknotes may constitute robbery product, which the perpetrators got rid off in order to avoid an arrest, or someone simply wanted to have fun, throwing fake banknotes into the river to see the reaction of the people. Trikalanews.gr confirmed the second theory reporting that a 23-year-old threw in the river between 3,500 to 4,000 euros.
