Greece's Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and his top advisers continue to support Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, who was sharply criticized by euro zone peers at a meeting on Friday, a government official said on Monday. Tsipras, in a meeting on Sunday with senior aides and ministers including the deputy prime minister and economy minister, expressed support for Varoufakis and agreed the finance minister will supervise a new group to lead "political talks" with lenders. "Support for Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, who has been targeted by international media reports, was confirmed during the meeting," the government official said.
