Dinner in the Sky of Athens

This year, on Valentine’s day, 22 Greeks will have the chance to enjoy an amazing, romantic dinner on a restaurant that literally floats in the Athens sky. Enjoying a meal 50 meters from the ground might not be the ideal date for many people, however, a few lucky adventurers will be able to make their dream come true. This risky and innovative idea was implemented in 2007 by a company in Belgium. Since then, “Dinner in the Sky” has expanded in eight other European cities such as Rome, Paris and now Athens. Its operation is very simple. A crane lifts a special platform 50 meters above the ground. The view from the table is spectacular. “Dinner in the Sky” accommodates 22 people around the table at every session with three staff in the middle; a chef, a waiter and an entertainer. People shorter than 4’11’’ are unfortunately not allowed on the platform. “Dinner in the Sky” was included on Forbes magazine’s list of the 10 most unusual restaurants in the world. The restaurant offers 4 dishes, wine and dessert while the staff members are making sure customers are served on time. “Dinner in the Sky” will be located at Technopolis, Athens, at 7:30pm and 9:30pm. The total dinner duration is estimated at one and a half hours.
