Triple Homicide in Northern Greece

A 55-year-old man in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, murdered his sister, her husband and their 12-year-old boy at their home in the area of Oraiokastro. It appears that Athanasios Kamaris, the 55-year-old perpetrator, who used to work as a taxi driver, had invested some money at the lottery shop that his brother-in-law owned. However, according to local media, he felt that he was being given less money than he was owed. On Friday, around midday, Kamaris visited his sister’s family where they had an argument, allegedly about money. At that moment, he killed his brother-in-law and his sister with a knife. According to Greek Police, the child was a witness to both crimes. When he attempted to escape, his uncle caught up and murdered the 12-year-old boy in cold blood. The neighbors were concerned due to the loud fighting and they alerted the police who arrived at the scene shortly after the call. When the 55-year-old spotted the police officers, he attempted to escape by jumping off the 3rd story balcony. He was injured and transferred to a local hospital where he is currently guarded by police officers.
