Hellenic Aerospace Industry Under Pressure Due to Elections

The Hellenic Aerospace Industry has been under pressure due to the political turmoil in the country. The New Year was not a happy occasion for the company’s employees who were expecting the program reactivation contract for the Hellenic Navy’s P3 Orion aircraft. However, according to Greek media, even though Deputy Finance Minister Christos Staikouras approved the funds, National Defense Minister Nikos Dendias did not sign for the program activation. As a result, the Hellenic Aerospace Industry lost 100 million that it would have received in order to keep afloat. Meanwhile, because of the upcoming elections, this decision is expected to lead to a domino of new developments. The Americans who are involved in the Hellenic Aerospace Industry program and are essentially helping to keep the company afloat, have already expressed their dissatisfaction towards the situation.
