New 4.8 Richter Earthquake Hits Kefalonia

A new earthquake measuring 4.8 points on the Richter scale hit the sea area north of  Argostoli on the island of Kefalonia at 12:30 a.m. Friday. The tremors were felt in Kefalonia and Zakynthos islands, in the cities of Patras and Agrinio, and other areas of Greece such as Achaia, Ilia, and Etoloakarnania. According to the Athens Institute of Geodynamics and the Hellenic Unified Seismological Network (HUSN), the earthquake was 11 kilometers under water. So far, no damages on the island of Kefalonia have been reported.
