Saudi Prince to Invest in Greece

Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal confirmed his interest in investing in Greece during a meeting with Greek Deputy Development Minister, Notis Mitarakis, and “Enterprise Greece” Chief Executive Officer, Stefanos Isaias, on Monday in Riyadh. The Greek deputy minister met with several investors and entrepreneurs at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh as well as with the Greek-Saudi Friendship parliamentary committee, as Greece is trying to secure investments from Saudi Arabia. The real estate sector seems to be the main point of interest of Saudi investors, as they see property prices in Greece at a low. Saudis are also interested in the construction sector and the acquisition of big hotel complexes and luxury buildings and homes as well as investing in the energy industry, especially in alternative energy sources. Respectively, Mitarakis discussion with the Saudis included the potential of Greek businesses and manufacturers investing in Saudi Arabia. Greek companies in the fields of energy, alternative forms of energy, construction, and the food industry can potentially invest and operate in Saudi Arabia.
