Police spokesman Patric Fors said the trouble started when one of the Greek supporters was arrested for shoplifting at the airport. Fifteen other supporters tried to set him free, clashing with police and security guards. Fors said two guards were taken to hospital with minor injuries. He said only the 25-year-old Greek suspected of shoplifting was arrested. The other fans were allowed to board buses to the stadium for the Group A match.
