Tense Samaras, Erdogan At Odds Over Cyprus, Relations Worsen Fast

On the sidelines of a NATO meeting in Wales on Sept. 5, a meeting between Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the intractable problem of Cyprus achieved nothing. The talk came after Erdogan, while visiting the Turkish-occupied northern third of Cyprus, called for a two-state solution.
