Mykonos 22 Years Ago: The Famous Clubs That Made History

A video filmed 22 years ago shows that the so-called “island of the winds”, Mykonos, in Greece, was always famous for its wild parties. The video shows some of the most famous clubs and bars of the island that made history and left their mark in nightlife. Mykonos Live TV uploaded the video and turned back time. The tour starts from Caprice Bar and Gallery which are located in the most beautiful part of Mykonos’ chora, called Little Venice. Caprice Bar has always been “the place to be” from sunset until dawn. The camera moves to the inner chora, to the classic Irish Bar, the Scandinavian Bar-Disco, meeting point of clubbers from across the globe, and the bars Manto, Icaros and Pierros which are the pole of attraction for the liberated gay community. Icaros bar was famous for its drag queen shows and Pierros for its legendary parties that were attracting famous fashion designers such as Jean Paul Gautier, royalty, playboys and celebrities. The nocturnal wandering ends in the most underground club of Mykonos, Mad, which was considered the temple of electronic music. Although 22 years have passed, the wild nightlife and parties are still happening in the Greek island, while its streets are always full of people.
