Both Premier League sides are in the market for a new stopper this summer, with Arsenal losing Lukasz Fabianski to Swansea and Liverpool set to see long-term servant Pepe Reina depart Anfield. And Navas has caught the eye in Brazil, impressing throughout the group stage before stealing the show as Costa Rica saw off Greece to reach the last eight. The Levante keeper, 27, is also a target for Atletico Madrid who are preparing for Chelsea to recall loanee Thibaut Courtois, and Navas’ buy-out clause of just £6.5m could yet see other clubs join the chase. He has made some really great saves – of course the penalty – and I think he will end up at a great, great club,’ said Costa Rica’s assistant coach Paulo Wanchope. ‘A lot of our players are playing for their future and we will see what happens with the likes of [midfielder] Yeltsin Tejeda or Navas.’ MORE: Is Suarez apology the start of a Barcelona switch? All Related
