VPRC Election Poll: SYRIZA in the Lead

According to recent polls conducted by VPRC, SYRIZA is in the lead to win the upcoming elections. In detail, VPRC conducted a poll for the Greek magazine “Epikaira” regarding vote assessment, which showed that SYRIZA is in the lead with 28%, while New Democracy came second with a four point difference (24%). According to the survey the relatively new political party, Potami, which was created a few months ago by journalist Stavros Theodorakis, continues to maintain high rates, while it ranked third with 8%, alongside Golden Dawn. The Greek Communist Party (KKE) gathered 7% and it appears to be moving upwards, while Elia and the Democratic Left are not doing so well, collecting 5% and 3% of the votes respectively. The Independent Greeks collected 5% and 12% of respondents declared that they prefer another political party. Furthermore, SYRIZA ranked first in the poll concerning voting intention, with 16.7% versus 13.7% of New Democracy, while obscure votes reached 23%. The rates of other parties: Potami 4.8% Golden Dawn 4.3% KKE 4.2% Independent Greeks 3.5% Elia 3% Democratic Left 1.7% Meanwhile, a poll by Pulse also showed SYRIZA in the lead with 23.5% and two points higher than New Democracy (21.5%). Compared to previous polls, New Democracy, Golden Dawn, Elia, Potami, KKE and the rates of the Independent Greeks have remained stable, while Democratic Left showed a slight decrease, collecting just 2% of the votes.
