IOBE Survey on Structural Reforms
A survey commissioned by the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) and The Boston Consulting Group, entitled “The role of structural reforms and the prospects of the Greek economy” found that Greece has yet to establish a strong dynamic of promoting fundamental reforms since in several sectors there are still delays, political confrontation and social reactions against necessary real changes. The survey will be presented tomorrow at a press conference organized by the seven largest bilateral Chambers of the country. The study examines data, presents challenges, reflects on the country’s progress and highlights the priorities of the Greek economy. Furthermore, it notes any direct actions which are needed for the completion of the necessary reform project, which will mark a new beginning for the Greek economy. The study suggests that Greece needs to substantially change the way its economy works, to develop its production base and implement various reforms in the fields of administrative interventions that will affect the fundamentals of the production system.
