Greek School Wardens Protest Against Availability

Tension arose midday outside the Greek Ministry of Administration Reform between school wardens and riot police officers. The police threw tear-gas in order to push away the school wardens who were protesting outside the Ministry against the availability measure. The employees of the Minister of culture, together with the school wardens had decided to go on strike today, holding a marching protest towards the Greek Parliament. Meanwhile, representatives of the protesters had a previous meeting with a Ministry official, just a few days before the availability of the eight month period expires. After the negotiations proved futile, the school wardens proceeded with a sit-in protest at V. Sophia road.
