Greek Authorities Arrest 48-Year-Old Bulgarian for Baby Trafficking

  Greek police authorities arrested a 48-year-old Bulgarian national in Larissa. According to reports of the Struma newspaper, the Bulgarian authorities issued the European Arrest Warrant (EAW). On Tuesday afternoon the Bulgarian perpetrator was identified in the region Tyrnavos of Larissa by the Greek authorities. The police arrested him the following morning. Last week, Greek police arrested five Bulgarians and two Greeks in an ongoing large-scale operation which targeted a baby trafficking ring. In fact one of the two Greeks that were arrested by police officials on charges of baby trafficking is a well-known lawyer. The Police officers infiltrated the crime ring by pretending to be clients that want to adopt an infant who was born ten days ago in the city of Volos. Police came into contact with the members, after which officers were able to expose and arrest the culprits.
