The Dukakis Effect Inspires Our Candidates
In the past, it seemed that Greek-American politicians were being elected to office in every state except New York, despite the fact that the New York Metropolitan Area has the highest concentration of Hellenes in the U.S.
Massachusetts, Maryland, Indiana, Florida, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, California, New Hampshire sent many Greeks to their state capitals or to Washington. But nobody was elected at any level in New York.
The tradition in other states continues.
