N.Y. Cops Seek Suspect for Greek Church Theft

NEW YORK - Police are asking for the public?s help in identifying and tracking down a suspect wanted in connection with the burglary of a Greek Orthodox church in Queens. Just after 2:30 p.m. On Nov. 7, police said the suspect, a man wearing all green clothing, including a ski cap, entered Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 30-11 30 Drive in Astoria and removed jewelry and an unspecified amount of cash before fleeing. Police have released surveillance images of the suspect. They are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the NYPD?s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS or to submit a tip online at NYPDCrimeStoppers.com. All calls are kept confidential.
