Samaras Praises St. Demetrios Staff, Students

ASTORIA, N.Y. - ?We experienced very touching moments, because children are the future of Hellenism, the power of the Diaspora,? the Prime Minister of Greece Antonis Samaras told Ethnikos Kirix as he was leaving St. Demetrios Day School. It was the second time Samaras visited the school and parents and teachers had a pleasant surprise in store for him, an album of his first visit. During both his speech to the students as well as his statements to the EK, Samaras referred to the school?s work, the excellent teachers and the school?s directors. Of the students, he said that, ?They are the tears of joy you shed when you are with them. Because they are Greek children, strong, happy, and soon will become university graduates. It is not merely that these children have an opinion of Greece, but because they have excellent teachers it is that they also have knowledge on Greece and that makes a big difference.?
