Greece's Public Administration Is Reforming
The following is a Letter to the Editor of the Wall street Journal,by Kyriakos Mitsotakis , published in its European Edition.
The Greek Ministry of Administrative Reform is absolutely committed to ending the long delays in the functioning of public-sector disciplinary review boards, while respecting in full all legal and constitutional requirements. The unfortunate events in Pangaio, as noted in your news story ('Killer of a Mayor in Greece Is Still on Municipal Payroll,' In Depth, Oct. 15), highlight this need.
Yet it is important to note that the case against the alleged perpetrators in Pangaio was decided in the first degree, both in criminal court and in the disciplinary review board, in 2010, a year after the crime was committed.
