Nikos Mamagakis (born in Rethymno, Crete, in 1929), one of the most important composers of contemporary Greek music with a great work behind, died early in the morning of July 24. He suffered from cancer and was hospitalized in a coma at the Henry Dunant Hospital in Athens.
