At yesterday’s midday briefing at the Commission, the spokesman was pressed repeatedly on the issue of the privatisation of DEPA, the Greek state oil corporation.
The deadline to submit bids for the company passed at 10:00 GMT Monday without a single bid for the company on the table. Russia’s Gazprom had planned to bid for the Greek company, but withdrew its offer at the last minute leaving the Greeks hanging.
