Prominent Greek grocery store struggles to fill shelves in time for Greek Orthodox Easter

The financial crisis in Greece has spilled over to the supermarket shelves of Astoria — much to the dismay of customers shopping for the upcoming Greek Orthodox Easter. Titan Foods, one of the country’s largest importers of Greek food items, is struggling to get in specialty items in from Greece as factories close, workers go on strike and surviving manufacturers in the Mediterranean nation contend with shipping woes.
