Coalition government receives vote of confidence

As expected, the Samaras-led coalition government received a vote of confidence just after midnight on Sunday, picking up 179 votes out of a possible 300 MPs in Greece's Parliament.

New Democracy (ND), with the largest bloc of MPs, at 129, followed by 33 Pasok MPs and 17 from the Democratic Left party gave the vote of confidence to Antonis Samaras' government.
