A joint decision from Migration and Asylum Minister Notis Mitarachi and Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis updates the list of safe countries of origin.On the recommendation of the Secretary General for Migration Policy, Pakistan and Bangladesh, countries from which a large number migrants come to Greece, were added to the list. At the same time, Ghana, Senegal, Togo, Gambia, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Albania, Georgia, Ukraine, India and Armenia remain on the list.The Working Group tasked with determining safe third countries and safe countries of origin is continuing its work and will soon submit its proposals for reforming the legal and regulatory framework that governs the determination of third countries characterized as safe.
