The Slovenian Ambassador referred to the support her country showed for Greece during the economic crisis, stressed that Slovenia stands at Greece’s side in handling the refugee/migration crisis, and referred to individual sectors in which the two country’s collaborate, including food safety and water resource management. The Deputy Minister referred to the cooperation between the two countries, which is founded on historical ties and the two countries’ shared course as allies and partners. He also expressed interest in further development of the two countries’ cooperation in the culture and education sector, mentioning the potential for capitalizing on the common heritage of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first Governor of the independent Greek state, whose family lineage traces back to the city of Koper in Slovenia.
