Wear what you want to The Marriage of Figaro

Elitism and opera | Neutron stars | Greek theatre acoustics | Jeremiah and the King James Bible | Three-legged stools Howard Jacobson (There is no excuse for a man not to wear a suit…’, Weekend, 14 October) reinforces the view that opera is elitist and unapproachable. Nothing could be further from the truth. If the music moves you it doesn’t matter what you wear. And if Mr Jacobson knew his Marriage of Figaro from his Don Giovanni, he would know that Mozart was one of the most anti-establishment of composers, and wouldn’t have cared what anyone wore. This is the cult-favorite workout tool you need to get the abs you want without ever doing sit-ups

_The __Insider Picks__ team writes about stuff we think you'll like. Business Insider has affiliate partnerships so we get a share of the revenue from your purchase._ [FS_Ab_wheel 4x3]Amazon If given the choice, most of us would trade 15 minutes a day to have great abs. It actually seems like an unbelievable deal — I spend double that just scrolling through social media every day. The problem is that no one can sit you down and say definitively that if you put X amount of input into sit-ups every day (15 minutes, let’s say), that it will yield X output in two months, which looks exactly like a mixture of your favorite athlete and a Greek statue. It also doesn’t help that sit-ups at home have a way of feeling completely useless. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if your energy is activating your core or being diverted to your spine digging into the floorboards. (If you’re sticking to the sit-ups, you might want to grab this to eliminate those roadblocks). Couple the aforementioned uncertainty with an exercise that feels like you might be wasting your time, and few of us trade those 15 minutes for great abs and a healthier lifestyle — because how do we know they’re actually working towards anything at all? WELL, NOW YOU CAN KNOW FOR SURE. IF YOU WANT TO CUT OUT THE UNCERTAINTY OF "IS THIS WORKING?" GRAB YOURSELF THE AB CARVER PRO ROLLER AND GET TO IT — YOU’LL KNOW WITH THE FIRST MOVEMENT THAT IT’S WORKING. The "ab carver" is an apt name — the patented spring design makes the most out of every movement, straining your muscles all over and toning your arms at the same time. It’s simple, as the best workout accessories are, and gives you the freedom of motion to twist and turn in order to target different muscle groups. If you really want to hit the obliques, simply wheel it side to side. [abs situps workout fitness exercise woman gym sit ups]Shutterstock For most of us, the act of wheeling something out in front of us by the strength of our core alone would do enough to "feel the burn," but the Ab Carver Pro Roller uses that spring design to push against your movements and adds resistance to engage your core. Like many of the most effective workouts out there, not only does the ab carver roller use resistance to get you a better body using the weight of the one you have, but it also uses the great practice of unpredictability. Instead of the linear motions of a machine at the gym, you’ll deal with variables that make for more engaged muscles in different patterns and get better, more natural definition as a result.  For $39.99, it's a pretty good investment for home workouts, especially if you don't make it to the gym every day. Thanks to affordability, efficacy, and actually being pretty fun to use, it's warranted almost 5 stars after nearly 4,000 reviews on Amazon. It also comes with complimentary pads for your knees, so you won’t trade a spine digging into floorboards for knees. And if your own particular workout roadblock happens to be that you don’t know which exercises to start, the wheel also comes with a 21-day workout guide so you get the most out of it and learn some new moves. If you're looking for a way to ditch sit-ups and/or ways to make your ab workouts much more effective and fun, look into picking up the Ab Carver Pro Roller and you'll likely have an easier time starting a habit.  PERFECT FITNESS AB CARVER PRO ROLLER FOR CORE WORKOUTS, $39.99

ASX-Listed Holista and Holista Foods Inc. (USA) Develop Breakthrough Noodle Formula

Oct 19, 2017 Picture:  Perth, Kuala Lumpur and Ontario - (ACN Newswire) - Australian Securities Exchange-listed food ingredient specialist Holista CollTech Ltd (ASX: HCT, "Holista") announced today that it has developed a breakthrough noodle formula certified to have a low Glycemic Index ("GI") - opening a major market for a healthier version of the staple which is vital in the global fight against diabetes and obesity. The noodles developed by Holista's Buffalo, New York-based U.S. subsidiary of Holista Foods Inc. ("Holista Foods"), recorded a GI reading of 38 in independent tests conducted by Glycemic Index Laboratories, Inc, Toronto, Canada. The global average GI reading for noodles is 60. The GI reading indicates the rate in which foods containing carbohydrates raise blood sugar levels in humans, with a lower score indicating healthier food. More than 100 million adult Americans suffer from diabetes or prediabetes, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. 11 million Canadians are living with the disease. The Diabetes Canada has endorsed Holista Foods' low-GI noodle formula as having met the latter's dietary guidelines. Holista Foods is allowed to display the Diabetes Canada logo on its product. In addition to the low GI reading of 38, each 85 gram serving of noodles contains 11 grams of protein, three grams of fibre, zero sugar, low sodium, low cholesterol and clean label ingredients (no artificial ingredients or preservatives) and cooks in just three minutes. Holista Foods will showcase the low-GI noodles at the 2017 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo in Chicago, Illinois, from October 21-24, and at the 2017 Diabetes Canada/CSEM Professional Conference in Edmonton, Alberta, from November 1-4. According to market research group Statista, nearly half the world's wheat is consumed as noodles, with China and Indonesia topping the list while a quarter is consumed as bread. The U.S. noodle market is worth US$270 million. The World Instant Noodles Association reports that global demand for instant noodles has declined from 106 billion servings in 2013 to 97.5 billion servings in 2016 as consumers continue to reduce the amount of processed foods, especially carbohydrates, from their diet. The availability of low-GI noodles will provide consumers with a healthier option that does not compromise the taste and texture of the product. According to the Economist Intelligence Unit report on "Tackling obesity in ASEAN (South-East Asian Nations)", a low-GI diet was found to be the most effective among food-based interventions. Holista Foods, headed by CEO, Ms Nadja Piatka, who has supplied healthier baked goods to major fast-food chains such as McDonald's and Subway, had announced in September 2016 its research efforts to develop the world's first low-GI noodles using Holista's low-GI ingredient, a patented formula that includes extracts of okra, dhal (lentils), barley and fenugreek. Holista, a research-driven biotechnology and food ingredients company with operations in Australia and Malaysia, said it expects to conclude the first order for its low-GI noodles by November 2017. In January 2016 Holista unveiled PANATURA(R)GI a patented formula co-developed with Veripan AG of Switzerland that achieved the world's lowest GI reading for clean-label flour-based bread. This product is in the late stage of commercialisation. Holista Foods is also researching to develop low-GI mixes for muffins, cakes, cookies and pancakes. Holista has also commenced research on a low-GI formula for sugar. Nadja Piatka, CEO of Holista Foods, said: "The fight against obesity and diabetes can be won with simple strategies such as empowering customers with better products. We are proud to make delicious, natural and healthier noodles widely available. In North America, there is a strong demand for noodles and healthier food options which do not compromise taste and texture. We are excited to roll-out the world's first clean label low-GI noodles in time for Diabetes Awareness Month in November, and World Diabetes Day on November 14." Dr. Rajen Manicka, Chairman and CEO of Holista, said: "After the global launch of our low-GI bread formula we are excited with this breakthrough for noodles, a food staple widely consumed across Asia and the world. The implications for the noodle market and for the global battle against obesity could be significant." About Holista CollTech Ltd Holista CollTech Ltd ("Holista") is a research-driven biotech company and is the result of the merger of Holista Biotech Sdn Bhd and CollTech Australia Ltd. Headquartered in Perth with extensive operations in Malaysia, Holista is dedicated to delivering first-class natural ingredients and wellness products. Holista, listed on the Australia Securities Exchange, researches, develops, manufactures and markets "health-style" products to address the unmet and growing needs of natural medicine. It is the only company to produce sheep (ovine) collagen using patented extraction methods, and is on track in nanonizing and encapsulating liposomes for the ovine collagen. Holista has suite of ingredients that is capable of serving the industry to provide low-GI baked products, low sodium salt, low fat fried foods and low calories sugar without compromise in taste, odour and mouth feel. Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ announcement on the Albanian authorities’ sudden decision to proceed with the demolition of homes belonging to members of the Greek National Minority in Himara

The apparent link between organized crime and the political scene in Albania –as indicated by the recent arrest of the head of a drug trafficking ring who happens to be a relative of someone who, until recently, was a top Minister in the Rama government– raises concerns. Equally concerning is the fact that the Albanian government continues to promote measures for the demolition of property belonging to members of the Greek National Minority, within the framework of its policy to uproot the historical presence of Hellenism in the region of Himara.Yesterday’s decision of the Albanian authorities confirms that the recently passed law on minorities is a step backwards for the main minority in Albania. There are many who interpret it as an act aimed at distracting Albanian public opinion from the major political issue that has arisen with drug trafficking. We hope this is not the case.
