BERLIN — German Chancellor Angela Merkel, caught between the prospect of Greece going bankrupt once and for all and domestic pressure against helping, will be searching in the coming weeks for a third way out.

Greece’s ‘last chance’

Eurogroup Chairman Jean Claude Juncker urged the Greek government to ply forward with fiscal consolidation, structural reforms and privatisation after talks with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras in Athens.

“The ball is in the Greek court. In fact, it is the last chance,” Juncker told a joint press conference on Wednesday.
